Image processing and AI engineer
To enable medical diagnosis with our imaging technology you will develop image processing solutions, using digital transformations, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning architecture. You will work on transforming our multispectral microscopic images into image standards used by clinicians and focus on algorithms for quantifying disease states to help pathologist in their diagnosis. Together with our team of image, biology, and medical specialist, you will also work on extracting novel image-based biomarkers to reach our goal of predicting cancer patient outcome. You will train and test your algorithms with our clinical partners, e.g., from the University of Münster. You will have the opportunity to follow your algorithms into clinical trials and practical application.
Your responsibilities:
- Design digital image processing algorithms
- Implement, test, and optimize your solutions
- Extract spatial features from microscopic images to describe cells and tissue
- Train deep learning architectures to identify biochemical and physiological properties
- Advise our team on potentials and limits of AI
- Observation of scientific and technological trends
- Support in GUI design and software development
- Prospectively: Head of image processing and AI
Your qualifications:
- BSc, MSc or PhD in computer science or related field (graduates welcome)
- Expertise in designing and testing image processing algorithms (noise reduction, distortion correction, registration, contour extraction)
- Expertise in training AI
- Experience in relevant coding languages and comfortable writing code
- Comprehensive knowledge of image processing libraries
- Independent, thorough, and team-oriented way of working
- Eager for new challenges and hands-on mentality
